Keynote Speaker: Junot Diaz

Junot Díaz, best known for his novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao and short story collection Drown, is scheduled to speak on Saturday, October 4th at 7:30pm in Memorial Hall. Following the book reading and discussion, there will be a book signing and light reception in the Queen Anne Lounge of the Campus Y.

Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New Jersey, Díaz is also one of the cofounders of the Voices of Our Nation Arts Foundation, whose mission is to develop emerging writers of color while stressing the value of commitment to artistic excellence, social justice, and empowering the community of other writers of color.
